Your identity stays yours
Everyone on Swingable joins as an individual. You have your own email address, your own password, your own profile and your own verification. There is no arrangement where one person holds the keys and the other borrows them.
That sounds like a small detail. It is the thing everything else rests on. If your account is genuinely yours, then the decisions made from it are genuinely yours too, and they can be traced back to you rather than to a shared username.
Together without giving up your individuality
Couples and partners can create a Shared Profile: one face presented to the community, run by two people who each keep their own login behind it. Both members have equal standing. There is no owner and no junior partner. You pick a relationship label, such as partner, husband or wife, and that label describes your relationship rather than a permission level.
Either person can step away from a Shared Profile without deleting their account, losing their verification or handing over their history. Being together should never mean surrendering individual control.
Know who you are talking to
When a member acts through a Shared Profile, that action carries a byline showing which person did it. Post, comment or reply, the community can see who is actually on the other end of the conversation.
Verification works the same way. It is done per person, so a couple is two verified people rather than one badge covering both.
Your image. Your choice.
Media uploaded to the private Vault is classified before it can go anywhere. The uploader says whether it shows only them, no people at all, or other people as well.
Where other members appear, they are tagged and asked to approve it. Until they approve, the media does not progress. They can decline, and if they never respond the request expires rather than defaulting to yes. Human moderators review submissions on top of that.
Privacy by default, not as an afterthought
Anyone can create an account, but full access only comes after photo verification reviewed by a person. Somebody real always checks who arrives.
Member areas are kept separate from these public pages and are excluded from search engines. Your profile, your media and your activity are for other verified members, not for anyone who happens to search your name.
Consent can change
Agreeing to something once is not agreeing to it forever. You can leave a Shared Profile, remove your own media, block or mute another member, report behaviour to moderators, and request an export or deletion of your data.
Reports are read by people, not scored by a machine, and reporting members are not exposed to the person they reported.
A community built around people, not profiles
Most platforms in this space treat a couple as a single unit and a profile as the smallest thing that exists. We think the smallest thing that exists is a person, with their own boundaries, their own reasons for being here and their own right to change their mind.
Design the product around that and consent stops being a paragraph in the terms. It becomes the shape of the thing.
Being straight with you
What this does not do.
- •No platform can guarantee how people behave once they are offline. These mechanisms reduce risk and keep decisions traceable; they do not remove the need for your own judgement.
- •Media consent applies to members we can identify. Where someone in a photo is not a member, we rely on the uploader confirming they had permission.
- •Verification confirms that the person matches their photos. It is not a background check.
