Photo Verification
Photo verification at Swingable, step by step
What you submit
You take a fresh photo of yourself following the on-screen prompt. It needs to be recent, clearly show your face, and match the person in your profile pictures. Screenshots, heavily filtered images and pictures of pictures cannot be accepted.
Who reviews it
A human moderator on the Swingable team. Not an algorithm, and never another member. Reviewers compare the verification photo against your profile photos and approve, reject with a reason, or ask for an identity check where age is in question.
How long it is kept
Your verification photo is held in private storage that is not part of your profile and is never published. It is kept for as long as your account stays verified, because moderators may need to re-check it if a report or an impersonation claim comes in. Delete your account and it is deleted with it. Identity documents, when they are requested, are deleted as soon as the check is completed — we do not keep a document archive.
Common reasons a photo is rejected
Face not clearly visible
Masks, heavy shadow, extreme angles or crops.
Doesn't match your profile
The reviewer has to be able to tell it's the same person.
Not a fresh capture
Screenshots, saved images and re-photographed screens.
More than one person
Couples verify individually, one person per photo.
How couples verify
Each partner verifies on their own login. A shared couple profile shows as fully verified once both people have been approved, which is why couple verification can complete at different times for each partner.
Being straight with you
What this does not do.
- •Verification proves the account belongs to the person in the photos. It does not vet character, intentions or health.
- •A rejected photo is not a rejected member — you can resubmit once you've fixed the reason given.
